Finally... The French Light Infantry March!

A few weeks ago I mentioned in passing that there was a load of 28mm Perry Napoleonic French sitting on the table waiting to be based. They'd been waiting a while.
Two years in fact.
Well the  guilt must have got to me!

The regiment

They are supposed to represent the 13th regiment and I did have a lovely GMB flag ready to complete the eagle bearer.

But, it was too big and the glue on the pole too resolute to make an adjustment! So this regiment have left their precious colour in the depot and just brought the pole. Apparently not too uncommon in reality due to the expense of replacing them.

More French - or the League of Augsburg Waterloo Hangover

Having returned from Derby in October I had a look over the garage shelves and decided it was high time I got some more of the 28mm French knocked off the spreadsheet. This has resulted in a large Gallic incursion on the painting desk back in the study:

Most of these are destined to be light, partially because I already have the flags but mostly as I could get away with simple blue uniforms without having to worry about white trousers.

I also had a handy half can of spray paint left over form all the blue marines I've done over the years, which further greased the path of least resistance.

But there are also some standard line on the way...

What I’m Working on Now…

It’s back to the default setting of 1815 and some more French. These guys are destined to be base coated and dipped using Army Painter. Still experimenting with that, still having variable results!

Kellerman

This is Perry's version of Kellerman from their 1815 range. Like many other figures he's been languishing on the old desktop for some time and only recently got daubed whilst I was contemplating what to start next.

I recently made a list of everything I'd bought and had yet to paint. I don't recommend doing this, it was depressing in the extreme.

It’s been a month with a French feel to it. This week the 7th Dragoons, finally got round to basing them:

Complete with elite company in bearskins(just love those).
