Imperial Guard - Scions

These chaps were bought as a bodyguard for Inquisitor Greyfax.

Not sure where the Red Beret came from... in the mythos apparently

As such I don't expect them to last long, they'll either fall prey to some Xenos nasty, be consumed by the immaterium or dispatched by the zealous Inquisitor herself. After all in the grim dark there are no innocents!

If you're gonna have a plasma gun it might as well be a big 'un
The blue uniforms were a foray into using the Citadel Artificer Tint Set which provides some highly concentrated pigment to make colours pop or in this case give a metallic a bluish hue.

Imperial Guard

More troops destined for the meat grinders of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. This time they are straightforward Cadian infantry stalwarts. Presumably they will be fired up after what GW did to their home planet in January.

Provided the commissariat bothered to let them know.

So here we have two sections of the Astra Mill, Ast Mil, Imperial Guard's finest.

Twin sections ready to go

Sergeant

Trooper

Imperial Guard - Heavy Weapons

More WH40K cannon fodder, sorry I mean brave, resolute heroes of the Imperial Guard. Despite the GW renaming these chaps for copyright reasons they will always be the Imperial Guard to me; partially for nostalgia but mostly because Astra Militarium is a pain to spell and gives every spell-checker in Christendom an apoplectic fit when you try to use it.

So here are some more brave chaps with support weapons instead of the usual tasers, all GW.

Heavy bolter

Missile launcher

More Imperial Officers

I seem to be distracted by GW fluff at the moment  much to the detriment of several historical projects which I do mean to blog about here. There is stuff for World War II, Napoleonic and Ireland in 1690 just sitting staring at me reproachfully each time I sit down to paint.

But in the meantime... a communications officer, admiral and psyker for the 327th Cadian Regiment.

Imperial Guard Officers

WH40K not French (though they will appear soon).

In my version of the Forty First Millennium the cannon fodder, sorry I mean Imperial Guard, sorry I mean Astra Militarium wear khaki.

It astounds me that in a universe full of boisterous Orks, eviscerating Eldar, spikier than spikey Tyranids and even spikier Chaos marines that the majority of humanity face these terrors with little more than a bomber jacket and a machine gun.

There also seems to be a lack of equality in the 41st Millenium, not a solitary female soldier in sight  (apart from the abnormally proportioned and wilfully ignored - by GW - Sorority of course).

So these guys are going to be taking the wrath of the Imperium to the various Xenos and traitors on Morgoth XIII just as soon as I clear away Waterloo.

In Colin meantime that's somewhere around Spring 2019.

Leman Russ Battle Tank

The 327th Cadian Regiment gets a delivery of what forms the backbone of the Imperial Army's armoured cadre. The Leman Russ battle tank.

Just followed the painting guide from GW. Used to be three shades per colour, now it seems to be six. You'd almost think they were making money out of selling paint.

I'm sure I can get it on a table top soon... but I suspect the 6mm stuff will get a battle first.

Chimera

A little bit of transport for the growing Imperial Guard army.

Fully equipped with a twin flamer and mega-big dakka as an Ork might say.

As ever GW model.

Commissar Kervon

Stoical chap this, ready to face down the forces of Chaos and gun down any of his comrades who don't feel like facing the forces of Chaos.

Mind you before he gets a chance to rid Morgoth XIII of demons, cultists and assorted mutants he'll have to survive an onslaught from a Tau invasion force.

Imperial Guard Valkyrie

A flyer from the 327th Cadian regiment.

This is the first vehicle in what will hopefully be a short army project (no sniggering at the back).

The Cadians will be the first to be deployed in the new sector piece I'm working on.

In time the sector will also see combatants from two Space Marine Chapters, Tau and the forces of Chaos.

Fortunately, most of these are already painted.
