Rightly or wrongly this command vignette illustrates the  most notable aspect of my wargaming with the League of Augsburg. Another brave officer lies slain probably during some foolhardy charge. His replacement has decided that he’d better get a will made before the next turn comes round…

Chaos Space Marines that have been sitting waiting for contact with a brush for some years. They probably felt it wasn’t just the Emperor that had forsaken them.

These will be an experiment in dipping… more of which in a later post.

Switching fronts for a while. Battlefront Guards Rocket Battalion. These 4 BM-13 Katyusha rocket launchers have been sitting on the bench for some time part of the ever growing (and ever more depressing) lead, plastic and resin stockpiles!

What I’m Working on Now…

Over at the League of Augsburg I’ve developed a little bit of a reputation for killing off senior officers. With this in mind I’ve started building a scene which will form one of the Huguenots command stands.
The C.O. is no more and his body is being guarded by one of his trustworthy soldiers (or somebody who sees an opportunity for a bit of looting later). Meanwhile the new C.O. has been handed a bottle to get over the shock and is dictating his will to a trusted comrade from another regiment. All figures are from Warfare Miniatures.

Finished Unit – WW II British Shermans

These are supposed to look like the Irish Guards round about Arnhem. Didn’t have the correct regiment number (53) in my transfer stock so may add this later if I can track the transfer down or if I’m feeling particularly brave I may try to hand paint them (how difficult can a small red square and the number 53 be???).
All miniatures are from the Open Fire starter set from Flames of War. Pretty much used the painting guide supplied with that except used GW Nuln Oil for black ink as I find it’s ready to use out of the tub and I usually have to thin Vallejo down.
